OVERVIEW
** This event is sold out **
Hey, crime junkies! Join us for an evening full of mystery and intrigue at Way Late Play Date: True Crime. If you so dare, guests will be invited to solve a “who done it” by using different methods of forensic analysis. Throughout the night, stop by our investigation stations to uncover clues and evidence for the mystery of the night all while enjoying the usual drinks and bites for purchase. The Sudekum Planetarium gets a Valentine’s day twist with a special “Lovers in the Stars” planetarium show, and not all of these love stories end so happily ever after. Other don’t-miss details: enjoy an interactive hosted by Escape Game, the Wicked Market, and presentations by a representative from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Costume Policy:
Due to the sensitive nature of topics related to true crime, we will not be allowing costumes at this particular Way Late Play Date. Guests are welcome to wear swag from their favorite podcasts or TV shows but are asked to refrain from any items depicting acts of violence either written or through imagery that may be triggering to others.
Event Policy:
We will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result for entry to this Way Late Play Date. The enjoyment of food and beverages will make consistent mask-wearing difficult and we want to ensure a fun and safe environment for attendees and staff. It has been two years since our last WLPD and we are taking these measures in an effort to reduce the potential of having to cancel the event.
When you arrive, Security and Adventure Science Center staff will be at the entry doors checking for:
- IDs – this is a 21+ event
- Proof of completed vaccination – which can be presented as a physical or smartphone copy of your vaccine card
- Individuals who have only received one of a two-shot vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result
OR
- Negative COVID-19 test result – which must be timestamped within 72 hours or less of the event
Vaccines are available at many clinics and pharmacies or at the Metro Drive-thru Clinic at 2491 Murfreesboro Road. Visit ASafeNashville.org or Vaccines.gov for more information on times and locations. We understand that some individuals may have medical reasons that preclude them from immunization which is why we will allow proof of a negative COVID-19 test as an alternative at this time. A list of COVID-19 assessment centers can be found by clicking here. Even if you are vaccinated, we strongly encourage wearing masks.
If you’re feeling the existential panic of having lost your vaccine card, don’t worry – you have options! Click here to read an article published by the Tennessean that breaks down the various steps that can be taken to replace your proof of vaccination.
If you are unable to present either a completed vaccination card that matches the name on your ID or a negative, timestamped COVID-19 test administered in the last 72 hours that matches the name on your ID, you will not be allowed admittance to Way Late Play Date. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
Hopefully, this is a temporary system put into place out of absolute necessity and we will be able to reevaluate soon once immunization rates increase and COVID-19 cases decrease. We are so excited to bring back 21+ events and your accommodation of this policy will allow us to throw an excellent Way Late Play Date.
