Trustees, team, elected officers, donors, partners, and local community customers arrived with each other to view the placement of the final metal beam on the building composition, according to a news launch from the Da Vinci Science Center.

The ceremony brought together workers, board, donors and other local community stakeholders to signal the beam.

The topping off tradition is rooted in the Scandinavian religious ceremony of placing a tree atop a new making to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced in its construction.
